Why does my Surflow pump keep going? (1 Viewer)

Why does my Surflow pump keep making a noise, when both taps are off? The only way I can stop it is by switching off at the main control. .

you have a leak somewhere on the pipework, at a tap.. or pipe union..

ran out of water.. tank empty

or the pressure switch on the pump is u/s .. or needs adjusting

You have a leak and it keeps re-pressurising.

All of above is spot on ! I just thought I would add that if your boiler drain valve is open the pump will continue to operate in order to fill it.

Mine also runs continously occasionally no leaks or valves open in does sound different when it does this usually clears when i switch off then on again

happened to me while touring,found it was the shower control just slightly open

If you can't find a slight leak after the pump it could be the non return valves in the pump itself so might be worth stripping it down, cleaning and re building.

No -only kidding,but i would like to know what the fix was?
on our old river boat an accumulater was a definite plus point!

"Sticky" Pressure switch, not releasing?

Probably a bit of detritus in the pressure valve, stripping and cleaning cleared it out.
