Despite clear mandatory prohibition of vehicles wider than 6ft 6in in narrow lanes 2 and 3 of the M2, the driver of this UK registered HGV persistently ignores it, thereby crowding legitimate vehicles and risking his job.

Ah, that explains why I find HGVs close up behind me when I am doing my maximum of 50mph on single carriageway roads :)

Correct, speeding, on phones, laptops, yadda yadda yadda. The chances of getting caught are nearly nil. Plus 90% of traffic cars are doing pc plods day to day job..

Looks to be within the yellow marker studs to me.
Doesn't matter.... if the signs say "xxx" or whatever width restriction then they should not be in that lane.

unfortunately it happens all the time

Probably more concerned about keeping his job than losing it, Hour's up, has to do x number of loads, cant tip after a certain time etc(y)

The studs are only markers for the size of road available during works. It does not permit the use of anything above the size mentioned to enter . That aside....Decaf's spot on!
Yes I know, I was making light of the problem.
Looking at the picture I estimate the lines at around 2.75mtrs apart as the Fruahaus trailer is 2.55mtrs wide.

I had an interesting experience with a truck like this a few weeks ago - it was straddling lanes I pulled up at the side of it and my car thought I was going to crash so decided to slam the brakes on in the outside lane - good job there was no one behind me or could have been nasty.

Can't see much inconvenience there , there is a line of traffic in front of him so where is anyone else going to go, and a fair bet would be a sign a bit back ,wide loads straddle 1 and two
