Why do the Spanish love dog turds so much?

Walk down any path in any village in Spain, or a park, or a green space, and guaranteed you'll see dog turds every few yards. Never understood why the Sapnish tolerate this. Do they have some kind of dog turd fettish?

We notice that in Villajoyosa, most of the dogs are behind gates and you rarely see any loose dogs. We have however watched people several times this Winter obviously locals walking with their dog and they just do not pick up.

It's not just the Spanish, it's the French and Portugese too.
The dog sh1te is just about everywhere you go unfortunately.

Much the same as any British street really, problem is that here in Spain the dog crap is usually British dog owners that can’t be bothered here to pick up their crap

In India earlier this year, lots of dogs, mostly wild/free. Barely saw any sh*t (apart from cow). Very surprising! No idea where it all went.

Today I saw the biggest dog turd I’ve ever seen. It was the Everest of turds,must have weighed a kilo at least,and it was a rich light brown colour. Had I known there was going to be a dog turd thread on here tonight I would have taken a photo.
I think the French are marginally worse than the spanish, Chris would know.

Totally disagree, we have lived here nearly ten years now and the British are lazy …… and don’t think they have to pick it up, so much so that I am embarrassed to be British

Go to los Alcazares, the place is covered in dog turds, v few British there, so can’t blame them, Spanish just let there dogs roam and shite everywhere, couldn’t walk on the pavement for the crap.
The beach where we are now is lovely but every morning the Spanish are out with their dogs with no such thing as recall, harassing every other dog and absolutely not interested in picking a turd up as they don’t even know where their dog is half the time.
Now at Almeria everyone was picking the dog waste up.
You can see why dogs are banned from beaches and don’t get me started on the t**ts who bag it up and leave it it tucked in the dry stone walls back home rather than kick or flick it

Don’t know where you live so can only comment on what I’ve seen in the time I’ve been in Spain, I’ve shamed two people into picking up by handing them bags, maybe you should try the same if you see so many British doing it where you live

Round here the dogs have auto camo functions in their backsides so the turds blend in to any background. You really have to keep your eyes down in hi-res scanning mode so as not to have a 'squishy event'.

My late brother never owned a dog, he was always travelling somewhere as worked for British Airways, he frequently referred to them as "Shit Machines"
He told me once that a lone unattended black dog would walk past the top of his drive and shit every day on top of his metal gate latch hole set in the concrete.
He was so peed off, that he shovelled up the dog poop, followed it home up the road where it went into a back garden, he then proceeded to lift the letter box flap of the owners home and shovel the poo inside the owners hallway.
I was shocked at the time when he told me, I said I just hope that dog actually lived there!
Well the dog never returned so it must have been the right house I guess.
Bit extreme, but the message (pardon the pun) got through to the owner.

Can't read the thread, the mere mention of dog shit makes me heave.
I'm beginning to think it's going to be compulsory in England to own a dog or two as it appears every man and his has one

Lots of places in France we have seen dog poo bag dispensers on lamp post etc. It does seem to be only the British who pick up though. It some towns there is a daily wash down of the gutters which shifts some of it, presumably washing it into rainwater drains, hence the fragrance of some towns on a hot day.
I might add that our dogs will never crap on a pavement, needing a patch of grass even to pee. I don't know why, perhaps its a border collie thing.

Where we live, there are Doggie Poo bag dispensers....it's a good idea for non dog owners, to help themselves whilst out walking/running...
When seeing a Dog pooing owner turn a blind eye, you can offer them one of your bags..a Kind of Shaming I suppose...sometimes works...

Don’t worry about that we do, and I’m not saying every Spanish person is innocent, I just get peeed off when it’s easy to blame the country folk, when in fact the tourists are as bad or even worse
