Nah!. Far to easy, besides it will need (min) LGV2 to drive, and Having to climb a Mountain to bed (and get out to pee in the night) is not at all practical. hence why I spent over a year rejecting some beautiful `vans with garages. Too many steps are dangerous when you`r half asleep and not that good on you pins any-more at best.

My wife watched a returning Smart car carefully backup to the front of its RV, and of course looking totally dwarfed.

"It's never going to pull THAT!". And she doesn't do jokes.

I’ve just bought a smart trailer to use with a new smartie, (not able to A frame the new ones).
Used it for the first time at the Weston cider rally, and yes it does make a difference.
The site @emmitdb chose was very good, but not the best served with buses, so we were able to get about using the car.
We don’t have any mobility issues, but to be able to get into local towns easily was definitely a big bonus.
Weston itself does not encourage Motorhomes in the town, with a lot of restrictions, and height barriers on all the car parks. Beach parking is possible at Weston but access is restricted due to tide times also Brean, but to get to nooks and crannies to explore it’s just not possible with the van (Autotrail Dakota). It’s not the largest van but still big enough to be restrictive.
I wouldn’t take the car all the time, but depending on what we intend to do it’s makes Motorhoming more pleasurable.
We don’t want a caravan due to storage as the van lives on the drive. Just!
We tend to use CLs so the car makes sense, and we can take advantage of more rural locations.
Well that’s my tuppence worth anyway

We have a toad , but dont use it much , but as our van is 8.7m it is difficult to get in a lot of small towns and villages so if we know there are no bus routes where we are going ( I always try to plan stopovers near bus routes ) we will take the toad , we used to use bikes a lot but the wife health has deteriorated so we have to rely on bus or toad
We used to be Tuggers but that is too much like hard work now

We haven't got a toad, but we found a drowning frog in the water butt behind our garden shed yesterday. We saved its life!!

being an ex tugger, we purchased our first motor home last August. As a tugger driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee towing a two ton twin axle caravan was hard work, expecially in Europe. the tail was always wagging the dog.
with a motor home towing a fiat 500 it is bliss, i feel nice and relaxed when i arrive on site, easier to set up, and i have the freedom without using public transport (do they still have conductors:LOL:)
each to their own obviously, but I'm happy with our set up

How does the car driver exit the car when in the garage??

Or is there a winch system pulling the car in?

It’s winched in and then fixed through side doors and back door.
I didn’t see how it came out.

I think if you look at Pic 2. there is no driver, so the winch is likely controlled from the side hatch and the locking/strapping achieved via the same means?.

We made friends with an Ohio "Snowbird" couple in Harlingen on the Mexican Border, They had a 5th wheel "Toy Box" where the bedroom jacked up to allow the "toys" in (Two Harley trike's ) that had an access from the front of the Trailer.

Winch is operated by the man hiding behind the car, control is on a long wire.

The Jeeps rival my Disco 3 was certainly not being wagged by the tail, that thing pulled like a train and can tow up to 3.5 tons without a problem.

No one is questioning that my jeep could easily tow my 2 ton caravan.
Your disco and my jeep can legally tow up to 3.5 ton. But kerb weight is less than 2.5 ton, therefore they are towing a caravan of equal or heavier weight... hence the tail wagging the dog..
Much rather tow a 850kg fiat 500 with a 4250 motorhome= dog wagging the tail.(y)

Just a thought: cost of toad + running costs = a lot of taxi journeys [and you can have a drink]

Mine was an auto with air suspension, with two passengers and luggage it was easily 3 tons, so plenty of ballast (y)

We would find a toad very useful for UK CL adventures but my problem is that I don't/won't tow anything behind a vehicle which I can't see permantly (and CCTV doesn't count in my book).

My loss.

Done properly a rear view monitor where the mirror would be is much better than any rear view mirror. I don't understand your "CCTV doesn't count" comment.

That is exactly what we have. I can see everything quite clearly at s glance. I have a remote controlled switch so I can turn it on or off very easily.

I cannot understand any concerns either.

What a load of tosh, I have 4 cctv feeds going into 2 switchable screens, I would like to see a rear view mirror that can achieve that level of coverage!!

I find that amazing. And wonder what the Actual payload would be?, in the real world.

My Winnebago on the F53 Chassis was 20.000pounds Ie 10tonne. I would have had the capacity to uplift a Smart and the Strengthening/stiffening to carry it? but with a much curtailed Payload for other stuff.
