Who was looking for a place in France to park up

Little more than a months holiday.

garden is the width of the house unfortunately .... and no mention of access - no water, or electricity or mains drainage - so all need to be considered BUT as a nice project it looks ideal for a little get away for someone !

They are all there but someone wanted somewhere to park up not convert.
Here is a paste of the details.

The outline planing to authorise the conversion of the building into habitation has been requested and then the new owner would need to complete full planning application before works start. The services are next door so would be relatively straight forward to connect and the advantage of the location would be that a connection to the mains drainage system will also be possible.

If there is no vehicular access to the garden area then probably nowhere to park up.

I guess if you could find out what the coordinates are, then Google Earth would be worth a look.
The agent should be able to source that information.
Geoff

The other thing to consider is the actual cost of putting in the services, renovation etc ... it won't be cheap so by the time you've allowed for that you'd likely be better off going somewhere that is already a 'residential' property and just needs a bit of TLC.

From experience they are VERY cagey about giving out the precise location of properties they sell as we found a few years ago when we were thinking of getting a place there ... they like to drive you to them that way if you buy you are liable to pay their fees rather than any other agent who has the same place on their books.

The link to a map showing property location on the agents site is a field, a rather nice field but not where the barn is.
As Minxy Girl said they want to take you but out of the question atm 😷

The maps on 1st for French are never accurate and sometimes just show the nearest town or village.Google maps and street view are your friend,

That happens quite often for UK properties too! 😄

The reason French estate agents "usually" do not give addresses is that each property could be advertised by numerous agents and only the agent that sells the property gets the sales fee. If a buyer finds a property owner a sale can be arranged direct and then the buyer saves having to pay the agents fee altogether. In France it is usually the buyer who pays the agents fees, but not always.

UNLESS. The sale has been arranged through a sole agent, then that sole agent will advertise and try sell the property, if the seller finds a buyer direct then the agent will STILL receive their agents fee.

A different ball game here in France selling and buying a property.

As chaser said it was to park up not work on

Yes I know but if you want to park up you'd ideally still want water, waste and power occasionally ... plus of course access to the 'garden' to park on otherwise you'd be having to move every few days or so to do the 'ablutions' etc.

Water yes, waste a hole in the ground, power , why do people spend a fortune on solar etc then want power. Always use a generator.

I don't think a genny would go down well with the neighbours in the nearby houses!

All I was doing was passing on a link to a shed in the country, someone a while ago was looking for somewhere where they could park up on their own ground in France, here they could park there van in a lockup garage, it does say all services are next door if you needed them, but not really necessary including main sewer which is a big plus in France.
And your own bit of garden to do with what you will.
7 grand it's not much more than pocket money to lots on here.

I can see what you mean but I don't think I'd like to 'live' in the MH in a 'shed'... especially since you likely need to make sure the shed is 'safe' in the first place so your MH wouldn't get damaged by bits falling on it. Now if it allowed access to the piece of land though that's another thing but not sure you could do it with this 'shed'.

I've had a look around the village using Google Earth and haven't been able to find the property. The front of the barn seems to be towards the north side - moss in front of the doors - and the barn is obviously between the grey down-pipe to the left and the side of the building to the right which extends above the height of the barn. I am not sure the doors are much more than 2.5 - 2.7 metres high, I'm judging that on the height of the pallet inside the barn.

IF / WHEN the weather improves we could take a run out to the village in our camping car if anybody is interested. It's about time it had some exercise, but we are in the south of Haute Vienne and this village is in the north west.

You`d need to get the address, the map link takes you to a field quite a few miles outside the village named

Had I been 20 years younger I'd buy it in an heartbeat.

Same here, it is supposed to be right in the centre but I'm blowed if I can find it on the map.
