The person who starts a thread is known as the Original Poster, or for some, the Opening Poster. Either way, this is abbreviated to OP. I've just fixed it so the OP in a thread is marked by a small banner on their avatar saying....yes you've guessed it.. OP

I think if you turn you phone to portrait (side ways) you will see the OP on the avatar. ??
