We're on the south end of Lake Annecy and start to head back up tomorrow for the tunnel Wednesday:(

@big bertha go for it, it's easier in France than UK, once you've done it you'll wonder what all the worry was about, don't worry about looking like a pair of plonkers it's our specialist subject.

(Shy and retiring!!:ROFLMAO:) :D

That's why we are going by the Tunnel too as we have a Jack Terrorist named Tia. Should you want to discuss this further why not PM this migrant old Scot
Ian
Not sure your Jack Russell terrorist Tia would get on with my Minnie the Minx.:D let me discuss with hubby and see if I can persuade him to go even if his mum not visiting Nantes. Thought you were Scots, picked it up from another thread, probably Falkirk one.(y)

As said earlier we are at La Roche Bernard on Le Patis campsite and its p.....doing down now and cooled off quite a bit which the JR is pleased about!
We moved to here from Pounacé, what a fantastic Aire, at this time of year-up to about 26th June-it's free, free electric & water even when they charge it's less than €5! Some huge lakes to walk around, all the usual wildlife including Otters that are not particularly shy!
The Super U is about a half hour walk alongside a disused railway line.

You have a choice, there 6 places on grass and another place completely on concrete and another 2 on solid looking ground.
But when we were there a few French vans stayed on the car park just down the road as well, which is Tarmac

Sitting in the grounds of a chateau near Tours as we meander back north. It rained last night but today has been unexpectantly very good. Very sunny but windy, fortunately the trees are sheltering the pitches.

We crossed Saturday evening via the tunnel...1850 crossing. Drove to Fort-Mahoney-Plage to our first ever Aire!! Lol. We were one of about 40+ on site. Ticket machine broken, so saved €10...
There was a car rally through the Main street this morning, with much tooting and revving of engines in true French style. Meandered around the Baie de Somme, heading towards Giverney. Hope to look around Monet's house and garden tomorrow. Rain...grey, but very chilled...happy days!!!

We're currently at the aire at Mijoux just a bit up from Geneve (Switzerland) having come up the Eastern side of Lake Annecy. Free water/waste and nice and quiet although there are a few soggy patches of gravel but nothing much.

We're making our way back up now for our return a week on Tuesday ... the time has passed quickly and we've been all over, we've seen some absolutely beautiful views/scenery/sites/villages/castles etc and are well chilled.

Must admit that yesterday morning was funny though but I'll mention that on my holiday thread.

Left Chamonix on Monday afternoon to slowly head back north, stayed Monday night just outside Basel on the French side. Rained most of the night then we visited Basel on Today for a couple of hours before heading off, now in Epinal heavy rain on the way here lovely night now and heading to Lux tomorrow.
I wouldn't recommend the site near Basel unless you really need to be close to the city, my opinion it was overpriced and scruffy plus full of workers using it as a base

Staying on the beautiful Aire at Objat. Been here a few days now and plenty to explore locally. Showery today but have had 32 degrees for a few days. We've showers and 16amp electric for 6 euros and a lovely location. Haven't bothered with campsites in our 5 weeks out and probably won't for the next 5 either. Enjoy wherever you are.
Looks a cracking aire with a nice lake for fishing/cycling round?

Just arrived at La Turballe on the beach site, came up from St Julienne des Landes after 5nice sunny days, lost wing mirror after been side whipped by 4x4 on way here.
This trip has been nothing but incidents just hoping for better after the next poor weather spell forecast.
If you are still at La Falaise there's a nice Aire at Lerat on the way to Piriac where there's a superb aire centre ville!!

Just woken here in Apt to another windless day of blue skies and sunshine. I can't guarantee how long it will last but it was too hot to be out in the sun yesterday afternoon.

We are in Mouzon, on the Meuse. Great little aire by canal. On our way home after 6 weeks. France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Croatia and back. Nearly 6000km so far.
We could live like millionaires in Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro. Public Transport all free for pensioners in Hungary, even trains. Had a great time despite some poor weather. Amazing scenery and great food.
