Met a lady in the wool shop in Marlborough who had made reusable Christmas crackers. She’d embroidered linen on her sewing machine, made hats and mottos for inside along with a ( bought) snap. Each cracker would contain a number which relates to a small, wrapped gift. My daughter and I spent yesterday morning in the scrapstore with her searching through tubs of fabrics to make her own.
Scrapstore were selling packs of felt strips, glue or staple to make chains.
