I'm a newbie, but planning to buy my MoHo this autumn/winter.
So I've been researching for a while now, know that I want an A- or C-Class (driving test 1980 so licenced) fixed rear bed (French or Transverse) with garage, forward dinette with swivel front seats and inward facing sofa to side, separate shower cubicle and all the usual furnishings, fixtures and fittings. I'm a competent DIYer so can retrofit where needed e.g. Gasflow. I will be full timing between EU and UK (post-B) and have a budget of £28k + contingency for the dream MoHo. I need a winterised or fully winterised vehicle which I am led to believe from these Forums that I need an EU continental manufacturer (German, French, Spanish, Slovenian) rather than UK (Autotrail, Swift, Bessacarr, Elddis, Lunar). There are plenty of vehicles from all these brands within my budget, but it is essential I get one that is winterised or even fully winterised. Do I really need to stick with EU continental manufacturers, or are there UK brands to include in my final choice e.g. Swift Escape 664, Swift Bolero 680fb, Bessacarr E560, Auto-Trail Excel 670B, Elddis Majestic 155, Lunar champ H591, etc??

Cross all those off your list. None are classed as Winterised.. You really need something with a double floor for proper winterisation. As you say most, if not all are of German / foreign brand..
Must be loads of vans out there that suit your layout and budget, just need to pin it down to a few favourite models and start searching.. Good luck..

We have had Brit vans for years, mainly Autotrail. We did use them in winter but always with drained down tanks. Now have a Burstner with the double floor so will be interesting to see how we go this year.

Fully winterised means German.
Forget about a French bed as you won't get a garage. Island beds only give a low height garage unless a big van. Transverse beds give a big garage but one of you has to climb over the other it you need to pay a visit in the night. Twin beds normally give the best garage.

Fully winterised means German.

Says who .. .. We have a Laika 712 A Class which is winterised .. Double screen blinds on the front windscreen, Double floor with insulation, The water tank also has pipes from the heating system running at the side of it. We even have heating vents across the front of the cab and a heated garage. Large double bed at the back which can be raised for an even larger garage. You also get a bit of Italian Flare which makes it just a little bit more special.

As for the OP he could be describing our Laika but don't think he will find one within his budget.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

'Cross all those off your list'
I have two lists: UK manufacturer (x22 models identified) and Continental Manufacturers (x27 models identified). I will reject the UK builds and concentrate on streamlining the Continental builds to 3-5 preferred models from Chausson, Burstner, Pilote, Rapido, Adria, Hymer, Hobby & Benimar.

'Forget about a French bed as you won't get a garage':
My apologies, I must not call it a garage. I'm looking for reasonable storage under the French bed with access from inside or outside such as the Burstner NEXXO T660. I'm alone traveller too, so no climbing over the girlfriend/wife.

'Take a look on Link Removed'
Thanks, that's an avenue I had not thought of.
