So we arrive at next campsite, and I ask where to pitch and which direction..it’s a moment of tension, and I will be to blame when the sun is hidden by clouds and we Park wrongly.
It’s fun watch others though, the German Motorhome just arrived has now tried 4 pitches, with the satellite dish spinning fruitlessly, and 40minutes on still not locked on.
Imagine the stress the driver is under there!

Update, now 70 minutes, 6 pitch locations and still not locked on. Now bored with watching, as he obviously is not going to succeed. Glad I don’t have satellite tv

Current priority in France is pointing uphill a bit with a clear view to the SE for the satellite.

I struggle with the obsession of people needing to view TV when motorhoming…

Getting away in the Moho for us, a chance to switch off from day to day normal. We visit places to explore, learn, chill out, chat, eat, drink and sit outside and enjoy the surroundings.

Yes we have a TV/DVD player in the van, but I’ve only ever once popped up the aerial and couldn’t get a signal, so have never bothered since.

The thought of spending time of driving around a site seeking a location for a sat dish signal, is in my opinion, absolutely bonkers…

We have a tv in the van, it has a terabyte drive velcroed on the back with many hundreds of films and can also receive freeview and even freesat but I cant remember when we last watched anything on it. Cant see the point of going away to watch tv. I could watch at home though I dont as there is only hundreds of channels of cr@p.

Is that all you do?

I struggle with people deciding where to sit on a train.

I had a haggle of women on a train into London the other day, but could they decide where to sit?

I am just thinking to myself effing sit down and shut up

I have great difficulty in getting off to sleep, except if i am in front of the TV !! much to Sue's annoyance,
Therefore a film late at night to send me to sleep, with a timeswitch on the TV power socket !! :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Don’t take the tellies abroad but always do in the UK ( Maxview Auto with SkyQ LNB )
As has been said so much to do on holidays abroad in the sun .

perhaps they don’t like talking to their other halves.

Satellite dish on my van is playing up, saying something about the LNB not working. I'm not sure I can be bothered to fix it, I think I've used it twice in 9 years! We have some DVDs for the kids but even they only really get used on long trips if they're bored, give them something to watch whilst we're travelling.

Each to their own.
If you travel with kids, it’s a life saver at times having a working tv in the motorhome, so why should we stay at home?
Some will say that’s all behind them now and they’re enjoying retirement.
I’m not going to say lucky you as I don’t want to wish the years away.
Just enjoy what you do and if you don’t put the tv on then great.
As for the OP, I think that’s funny that you’ve sat and watched and thought of the hassle the driver will be getting as that’s usually me getting the earache although I would have said knackers to it by now and put a dvd on 🤣

Most on here are OAPs !!🤣🤣🤣

Took the TV out.
Then unscrewed the TV mount. It weighed about the same as a bottle of red.

Not interested in the telly when we are away. I will sometimes have UK radio morning programmes going through my phone on data. The boys have DVD players on headphones.

We do that old-fashioned talking-to-each-other thing.

Take a compass. That way you can park the right way even in the dark. I like my hab door facing south.
Or even a phone app.
Make sure that you get out the van with the compass as we noticed that the van was throwing the needle out.
I fully agree. If the electric fish tank is so vital to your enjoyment of life then stay at home.
Always take a few dvds away with us for nights of cba walking to pub or its wet out and no book to read.
