I'm looking to install 2/3 x 200ah LifPo along with a Victron Orion B2B but want to make sure I use the right product.

The alternator fitted to the vehicle is 14V/180A.

There seems to be a few options, the most perplexing being Isolated or Non-Isolated.

Can anyone shed any light on the subject?

Cheers
Red.

I think you are OK with the non isolated in a MH.
Isolated ones are suitable for marine environment applications

Someone else can confirm

Are they not only 30A? So you will need to fit several in parallel if you want to get a reasonable charge rate to your battery

I've got a votronic vcc1212-50 B2B and it is simple and excellent, and pushes out 50A

Is that on the new van or the old one😉👍😁😁😁
The "old" camper has a 220 amp alternator

The new one is European so will be underwhelming ;)

Actually on the "old" one I have just changed the Sterling to a 160 amp version for evaluation (y)

Victron Orions aren't particular efficient. At full load, they produce a lot of waste heat. Unless you've got good airflow, they quickly reduce their output to save themselves. If you're buying Victron because the rest of your gear is blue... It doesn't give you much data either...

I've got Victron battery monitors, solar chargers and mains charger. But I got a Voltronic B2B... Although not fitted it yet. 😅

Isolated keeps the -ve separate, and the non isolated shares the same -ve as the vehicle chassis.

Thanks all for your replies, great information. I think it might be worth posting a diagram of the whole 12v planned system on here for comments before I invest in it...

Use the new Sterling 120 amp Buck Boost B2B

I‘m getting 100amps plus on road charging
Eddie, do you supply these? I need to give you a call on Monday to book it in for a STRIKEBACK and NON-STARTER installation too :drinks:
