Can you help? We've managed to book the popular C&CS in Keswick for mid July but are trying to find a site in Southern Lake District area, any suggestions?
With EHU preferably, but otherwise no special requirements, apart from the obvious; pub within (short) walking distance. Thanks. Terran & Lin (y):hi:

The Caravan Club site at kendal is within walking distance of a pub. It is very popular but you might get in! There's not a lot else within walking distance though.

We stayed at the C&CC site at Kendal (just outside) and that was great. We took the toad so explored the South lakes from there - great base with a supermarket just through the back of the fields.

Regards,

Trikeman.

2 options spring to mind and both are the C & CC sites. The site referred to as Windermere (approx 5 miles from Windermere!) has a small pub on site which serves reasonable food - they do a nice lasagne. The other is actually a lot nearer to Windermere and within walking distance of the lake and pubs/shops and is Braithwaire Fold. This one is however very difficult to get in at, so you need to book early and there is a minimum number of nights. This is our favourite 'local' site.

nice site next to pub at Castlerigg farm http://www.castleriggfarm.com/ they seem to have rules etc but actually are really relaxed. The facilites are very good. Close to Keswick and a pleasant evening walk can be had up to Catslerigg stone circle.

Avoid the big formal static site across the road.

Wyerside fisheries Lancaster, all good facilities and Bar on site.
