We will be heading west on the M4 towards Swansea on Saturday night and we are looking for a decent motorway services area to spend the night.

Not been this way for years so was looking for recommendations for which services to use as some are better than others normally.

Are any better equipped for motorhome parking than others, would rather have designated motorhome parking rather than in amongst the trucks

First 2 hours free for all vehicles, after which cars must pay £15 for a further 24 hours and HGVs, caravans and coaches must pay £25 (or £27 to include a £10 meal voucher). at cardiff gate

between the M5 and Swansea the M4 services are in my opinion poor. the one at J36 Bridgend has recently had a referb so is not bad and parking is easy.

Magor services i find a bit small and tight parking.

J33 Cardiff west is Ok but nothing special quite a slope on the parking areas.

Strensham before coming off the M5 could be an option.

I wouid normally just wild camp for the one night but not in these strange times.

People have had there vehicles damaged and been asked to move on by police all since covid so want somewhere secure

Been wild camping the last 3 of 4 nights in Wales no proroblem whats so ever, along with the other 6 Motorhomes on Saturday night.

Are there not any pub stops handy for the M4? Don’t know if you’re in Britstops but you could look on searchforsites.

Sarn services at Bridgend would be my choice if i had to stop on the M4. but its quite close to Swansea

Secure and motorway services don’t go in the same sentence. The low life the move around there cutting curtains or nicking diesel is common.

Thanks all we have now managed to find a nice CL site 5 mins off the motorway £15 for the night with EHU and will be much quieter than the services, must have dropped lucky as most are fully booked
