So we can swap files and save photos to laptop etc.
Hello Brian,I’m looking for a tablet to use as a satnav, do you think the tablets speakers are loud enough to hear the spoken directions over the general road noise in a Motorhome ?Just bought my wife this one, magnificent screen.
You can do that with any internet tablet that can use apps such as google drive and dropbox - which include Apple and Android devices.

Chris
I appreciate many people love their 'i' devices but my experience has not been good. They wont let me simply transfer an excel file and its incredibly difficult to transfer stuff - I lost most of my music when I wanted to move away from my ipod.
Volume is good, on another tablet I used to plug it into the MH radio for better sound.
But GPS, it has a metal case, so could be iffy as a satnav. It's struggling right now sat by the window at home but this is first time the GPS has been turned on, watch this space.
LATER: Took it outside and it did get a fix but of course I have no idea how it would perform in your MH. It's probably a bit big for a satnav.

Thanks for the reply, I've tried a 7" Lenovo tablet and the the sound wasn't loud enough, unfortunately the factory fitted radio doesn't have an audio input socket.
I've done a bit of research and 4 different specialist radio repair firms all said the same thing, although the label on the rear of the radio shows aux in pins they are not connected inside the set!Neither did mine, but a little research showed some pins on the back that were audio in, do a bit of research.
By the sound of it you want to make it compatible with Windows. In that case why not buy a Windows tablet. I have a Microsoft Surface Pro that acts as a tablet or laptop with its detachable keyboard. I also use it as a desktop at home using a docking station to connect to network, display monitor, printer and wireless keyboard and mouse. Windows 10 based with i5 processor. BUT it was not cheap to buy.I appreciate many people love their 'i' devices but my experience has not been good. Had mine two years and none yet. Except initial price. And being made by Microsoft means that it is completely compatible with Windows 10 and gets all the latest updates quickly. It also means I have full versions of all the windows programmes I am used to including Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. Buy its dedicated docking station if you want to use it as a desktop. Again not cheap, but works well. That sounds like a good idea, any downsides?
