Was a Newbie but getting the hang of it now.
Which is the best source of info for none club type sites?
Britstops or
Motorhomestopover.co.uk

Any help appreciated ?

You can just use Google Maps. Zoom to and area you are interested in and search for "camping". Then just read the reviews etc.

This is a random screenshot of sites around Thetford.

Alternatively, there are guides, Alan Rogers for example and the AA used to do one. Also Forestry Commission have sites.

Britstops is overnight stops primarily at pubs usually without facilities

I’d use Campercontact to find campsites and other stops

My method for uk and if you change to sat view you can pick out the laybys people are using surprising how quickly you can spot them with a bit of practice, best ones are when a road has been straightened and leaves the old road for parking (y)

I would try"search for sites" it shows most places.

Thanks for the alternative ideas guys. Great shout from my namesake looks like a good one, will give the app a spin for my week away starting next week, had thought of east coast (lincs, Norfolk, Suffolk) but they looking really wet.
