I need to get some warranty work done in the south west ......the van came from Peterborough originally, but I live in Devon ....so who's best for repairs (alde boiler).

    Alan Kerr - nearest
    Chelston motorhomers - bit further
West Country Motorhomes - longest distance

I don't really mind which I use but would appreciate any feedback.

    Regards

    Chris

Contact the dealer and get them to arrange for someone local. I live in Norfolk but got van from Portsmouth. Dealer arranged a local engineer to sort the problem(s). Your dealer may be reluctant to do so though.

I've had two Swift Bessacarr motorhomes supplied by Marquis Motorhomes, just up the road from you at Lee Mill.
I was always satisfied with the work they did for me, and they are happy to work on vans which weren't supplied by their group.

A friend just bought a van from Alan Kerr and has not been best pleased with their after care as soon as they had her money!

Tavistock Caravans is an approved workshop with excellent reviews and I've been pleased with them. Give them a call. i don't know if they can deal with the Truma but will no doubt know a Truma engineer.

It may be worth calling 'Outdoor Experience' at Teigngrace. They are dealers for Bailey caravans.

Totally agree with Abacist, Alan Kerr after sales service was shocking. Wouldn't go near them ever again.

    ICANTREMEMBER. Hello Brian..
Thanks for the "heads-up" about Mike the mobile engineer. He did my Hab check on 22nd March. A very thorough job at £100 plus the dreaded.
    Thanks.
    Mitch.

We bought our motorhome from a dealer the other end of the country, for small warranty jobs they arranged a local dealer to carry out the work, their words to us was they always do warranty work from anyone as it could bring in other business.
This mindset has however changed this year, it appears that the rate for warranty work is much less than that for non warranty work so apparently dealerships have got together and agreed they won`t do any warranty work unless the motorhome is actually purchased from themselves.

This non regulated industry doesn`t really deserve the hard earned cash of it`s customers.

Don't know if anything has changed but Teigngrace were owned by the same operation as the dealer at Ashburton.

They wouldn't look at any caravan unless you had bought the van from them.
Even in the direst of emergencies they were as welcoming as Typhoid to any enquiry, as reported on many caravan forums.

As is said earlier and from previous experience I would not certainly not use Alan Kerr's workshop
