Something odd about that link, it does not work. But anyway I don't know that make. It's very good value compared to Sterling charging about double that for 300W. The Chinese can turn them out for that much or less but quality, no idea.

this is a like for the inverter Link Removed

No standby current listed.

As a matter of interest, have you any means of measuring the 6kW one on standby to see how good/bad that is ?

If it's not that bed there's no need to buy another. We might be jumping to the wrong conclusion if we are not careful.

well i have used an amp clamp and the rv
0.09 amps dc with everything off
0.11 with all the lights on in the rv ( 13 led and 7 bulbs )
0.31 with every thing on ( lights, heating, hot water, extractor fans x2)
i have 2 solar panels they are charging at 0.40 amps at the moment ( well it is winter )
i have tested the 6000 watt inverter 0.33 amps dc on standby

i have tested the charging of the engine and the battery charger and they are all ok

i have tested all batteries with a hydrometer and they are all flat it is saying so i tested my car battery and that is fully charged so it is working ok

so now i have fitted 2 x 110 amp battery to the rv and put them on charge with a 40 amp charger and a 20 amp charger on saturday and will see what happens monday

Don't like the look of that.

90mA off maybe OK.
110mA with that load, no way. More like 11 amps. Can you check the meter settings.

Just had a horrible thought for you, a quick look on ebay shows loads of clamp AC current meters and no DC ones.

Are you sure you have a DC clamp meter - rare and expensive.

What make is it ?

actually, looking at the spec on this, they need to make up their mind.

is it AC and DC current or AC only ????

Instrument Overview:
This meter uses Large Scale Integration and unique function circuits. It can measure AC Voltage, DC Voltage, AC Current, DC Current, resistance, diode, frequency, temperature and fulfill audible continuity test. With the function of phase indication and identifying live-wire, this clamp meter is an ideal instrument for electricians.

Features:
  • 3 1/2 Digits LCD with a Max. reading of 1999
  • AC Current Function
  • AC/DC Voltage measurement
  • Input Impedance: >/= 10 Mohm
  • Overload Protection: 250 DC/AC virtual value

It looks to me to be a simple AC clamp meter. So all you are reading is noise and ripple from whatever you turn on. These readings are no use at all I'm afraid.

But it's OK for general voltage readings.
