Quite simply (though I doubt it will be) which aerial is better for a simple set up. I have a freeview tv but the aerial is as old as the hills and the signal is poor. It has a vision plus at the moment which is the same shape as the status 330/335. The simplest idea would be to replace it with one of those two or is the status 570/580 a better option.

I wouldn't mind some help with this as well, bump it up a bit, hopefully someone with the knowledge will see it:)

Our Rapido never came with an external aerial which at the time was not an issue as we had an Oyster Cytrac satellite dish fitted. Now I would like to fit a DAB head unit and an external Digital aerial and fancy one of these from Maxview as it will do both. Note the quality MoHo at the start of the vid. :D2;)

I had a 570 fitted two years and it works very well with our free view Avtex, the light indication for which way to point it is also very useful. It also has a connection socket to put the radio to it, though I haven't done that yet.
There's the new 580 out now, so I would go for that if I were looking for one now.

I love the look of the Maxview, do you think it's reception can be as good as the directional ones? Thinking back to the original space ship design of the past, they were disappointing, but I suppose technology has moved on! Excuse my ignorance(n) but what is a dab head unit?

The Avtex aerial is quite good at about £ 40 I have tried it all over UK and it has only failed me once, and that was because no body else could get a signal either, it can be moved all over the van although the provided sucker is rubbish ,it is a simple solution as you asked .

I really like the look of the 335 as it would just fit straight on where the old one is now and me being a lazy bugger always look for the easy option. I am just concerned the omnidirectional aerials are not as good enough quality.

Hi

I also have the Avtex antenna as my Chausson did not come with an aerial fitted and I didn't like the idea of my roof being drilled.

I have found it to be excellent with Freeview on my Avtex tele and where others struggle I get a good reception. Just work out the general direction of the transmitter use the suction cup to attach to the body and tune. Even up in the Yorkshire dales I manage to get a decent number of channels so well impressed.

I struggle to get my Avtex STH3000 aerial sucker to stick to the outside of my PVC and I'm looking for a neater solution than having an aerial cable draped around the inside of the van. What are the views on the Status 570?
Am in correct in thinking the difference between the 570 & 580 is essentially the pole length? I suspect the short pole will work better and allow fitting in an overhead locker

I have the same issue and looking at an external pole to which to attach the STH3000. I wondered if a cb supplier may have a suitable pole. Did you get any help on this issue?
