Where to stay over for Autogas Thirsk? (1 Viewer)

Travelling down to Thirsk to get Gaslow dotted - need to stay over Wed night for Thursday morning booking - we can stay on forecourt but taking daughter so would prefer somewhere more scenic but close by .. any ideas?

There's a decent CMC CL about half a mile out of town, stayed there a couple of times.

Croft Working Mans Club about 20 miles away, parking for mohos is in the large car park £5.00 per night with 6 amp ehu, toilet grey water and fresh water and outside toilets (very tired). Not the prettiest setting but some great walks and scenery, also full use of club facilities, cheap beer, club opens from 09.30 am and inside toilets can be used.

You can stay overnight at Autogas 2000. Think there is ehu as well. If not think you can stay at the race course

Yes thats the one, a big CL, storage site there too, down a one track road on the right hand side just a great big house, 2 actually. Its all grass no hardstanding.

Yes I have details for this - it’s my fallback - but daughters first time in van thought I’d try scenic.
Unfortunately they’re not opening racecourse site this year .

Laxt time we were there they had prices with and without EHU so if you have solar this weather may not need EHU.

And there lies thé crunch ... solar panel getting refitted end of month after the M6 fiasco ... it was due to happen week of lockdown

Stay on the forecourt then spend the day at the fishing lakes, 10 minute walk away. You dont need to go fishing just have a stroll and a sit.

Turn left as you exit Autogas 2000, a few mins walk and you see the sign to turn left for the lakes, lovely walks around there. I took the dogs and binoculars.

Bring a flask as the cafe isn’t open but nice place to have a drink
