Currently at Fort Mahon, and booked on the tunnel Saturday afternoon.
No plans for tomorrow night. So thinking maybe Gravelines,, is there enough to keep me amused for a day.
Or can anyone suggest somewhere.

Depends what you mean by amused ?

Montreiul sur Mer is worth a visit and also Le Touquet - a stop at Etaples Military Cemetery to pay respects wouldn't be a bad idea.

?

DePanne is just over the border in Belgium and a nice seaside resort with many shops.

When you've done that the centre of Calais is a nice place with some half decent eateries and surprisingly the beach aint bad either

If you are interested in WW2 stuff go down the coast to Battery Todt, there is one that is complete and is a museum but if you have a torch go and see the last one south. It has some original graffiti that is still intact inside.

Did not want to hijack your reply but was interested in what you suggested... must visit!

We often round off our trips with a stay at Bergues. Nice aire but no facilities about 30 miles from Calais. Interesting tourist town with plenty of shops and ramparts to explore.

Berck sur mer, just up the road, to see the seal colony
Eperleque ww2 rocket base
Cycle around the bay from Le Crotoy

Done the cycle ride from Le Crotoy to Sy Valerie a few years ago. Was absolutely knackered when we got back.
Son who was about 16 at the time was as fresh as a daisy.

You could nip down to Boulogne that’s not far down the coast, and there is a massive hyper market near, just off the motorway

Adinkerke for us...Lovely town and seafront.
Lots to do and see... Then slip back a couple of miles towards Calais to Bray Dunes aire for our last night...

It isn't but he's at Fort Mahon - and that is about 2 hours away.

He also mentioned going to Gravelines which is what gave me the idea. It's a short hop to De Panne and far more interesting.
