Can anyone help with sourcing a spare wheel and tyre? I am looking for a 225/75 R16CP spare, used or reasonably priced new. Not happy with the bubble gum and cycle pump offerings, especially when abroad.

Try vehicle breakers. You would not believe as a breakdown driver how many people we go out to. If you hole a tyre the foam is no good. And if you use it on a small puncture it will only get you to safety. Then you have to change tyre. It sets around hole. Like driving with brick in tyre. £30/50 most motorhomes have space to carry hung on chassis. Wait for comments. Check pipes cables etc along chassis then use ratchet straps. Take your time. You can do it.

I put “spare wheel Renault Master” into ebay and got loads starting at around £80, then I put “Renault Master spares” in and got someone breaking a complete van who sold me a wheel and tyre for£30 :)

I am not sure about the wheel spigot size on the tyres being offered. I need a wheel and tyre to suit a 2009 Fiat Al-Ko chassis, tyre size 225/75 R16CP. Some of the wheels on offer on e bay are from pre 2006 Ducato vans and from the little bit of information when Googled I think that the spigot bore of the rim differs on these model years. Now the confusing bit, an e bay seller has a compatibility checker and the wheels for the 3.0 litre platform/chassis appear to be the same size from 2001 to present. Talked to the local seller who advised "bring the van along" and that spigot adaptors are available if needed. This is the trouble with buying from internet traders, confidence that it will fit:unsure::unsure::unsure:
    Any help would be apreciated(y)

The link I gave you is for wheels from new vans that are converted to alloys by auto trail

Pre 2006 will fit but won't accept the wheel trim due to the position of the valve

Make sure you've got enough spare payload. They are heavy, which is why many manufacturers no longer fit a spare.

Thanks for that, 4000kg plated with 700kg payload should be OK, you are right in highlighting the issue, the van is available as a 3500kg plated weight.

You know that Pauline is weighed by the feather, not kilograms. You wait till she reads this, the fact that you referred to her on a post about spare tyres will not help either:rolleyes::oops2::wasntme:

By the way Graham, are you featured on shed of the year on CH4? Brilliant series.
