Hi,

The cassette in our MH was really pretty grotty and leaked when full (bleurgh!) so I’ve ordered a Thetford fresh up kit to replace it.

Am I ok to throw the old one in the household waste wheelie bin?

It’s currently empty and has been rinsed out with fresh water but is obviously used and has had chemicals in it so not sure if I should be disposing of it in some other way?

Don't see any problem, worse things go in the bin.

Depending on which model, there was someone on here looking for parts.

If you will box it up, I will pay for postage. Looking for a spare.

Put new seals on about £15 it will be brand new, could be handy if you wild camp and no where to empty
That would have been my choice too. (y)

There's your solution @dutts303. Sorted. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

If you do get it and you replace the seal, be careful not to over tighten the screws as they can shear off the plastic stems they screw into. If you do shear them off then you can get a spare complete mechanism for about twice the price of the seal

If either you or @dutts303 decide to replace the seal or the mechanism it is best to also replace the bowl retainer bracket on the underside of the bowl. This cost about £10 but will ensure no leaks

Sorry mate, been a bit busy with work. Didn’t realise the seals could be replaced so considering my options.

Yes, a good clean up and new seals, keep as a spare or sell on.
