What do all think? I know nothing about them but there are some good looking Burstners around
We have had ( very) old RmBs and Concorde til now

Well your "very old" Concorde and RMB would be built like a brick "out house" so you might notice a difference there, other than that we have not had a Burstner so can't really comment.

Our first van was a new Aviano in 2008.

It seemed well built and in the 5 years we owned it we had zero faults.

We only changed it because I didn’t really like the layout.

We paid £47,500 for it then and now I believe they are over £80k - crazy.

Bought a new Burstner Solano in 2008, the Fiat side let it down but the Burstner side was fine, sold it in 2010 and went back to a caravan for a couple of years.

I don’t know much about Burstner but why did you change from old Concorde and RMBs?

From an old Concorde owner.

We haven’t changed yet. Our RMB 7.4 m is very old
The Concorde is a bit newer but still old - it’s too big for me 8.4
I was fancying something newer and more reliable ( though I appreciate newer doesn’t always mean reliable) and smaller 7 m?
Haven’t had the Concorde long but I really don’t like it’s overall bulk- Brittany lanes weren’t conducive to relaxed travelling for me even though my partner didnt flinch at the driving.
A trip to South Spain whilst it ate up the miles and was spacious just emphasised fur me how much more I enjoy wild camping- we stayed on a campsite mostly
Not impossible at 8.4 but easier at 7!

Also I’ve never before rerouted to avoid a bridge! It’s high as well as long!!

Very happy with my Burstner, lots of things could be improved but far better build quality than my previous Swift caravan. Fiat is another matter.

Burstner Lyseo 690G.
Three years and 24K miles from new. Except for the air bag light throwing a wobbler last year the Fiat van as be perfect.
Almost all good with the conversion except for the various cheap and poxy plastic catch's Burstner have been fitting recently. Cheap to replace but annoying.
I've been converting them all to stainless steel versions.
This is our third Burstner in 12 years and I would bother with any others.

Typical shower wall plastic catch - it was always going to break

I've had 4 Burstners in the last 20 years
1 Solano which was lovely, well made and great to drive and then 3 Elegances an 820 a 900i and a 920g all fantastic vans brilliant to drive, always admired and overall superb build quality, as others have said though some have plastic type fixings etc but my vans never gave any problem, I visited the Burstner factory in Germany last year with the view to buying one of their pvc vans (as I've decided to go more off grid and wanted a small van) I stayed over in their free motorhome parking facility and looked at every van they had and think that their new stuff isn't what it used to be, especially the exterior, I spotted rust & some peeling on a van in their showroom not even sold yet! Didn't buy either of their pvc's City car or Eliseo and bought a Carthago Malibu instead, a very well made wee van, solid and great build quality, personally I believe you can't go wrong with the German stuff although there may be some duff ones out there 🙂

Are you looking at a new van 15edward or roughly what is your budget if you don't mind me asking, some of the older N+B Arto's are well screwed together if you want smaller and lower than a Flair which would be more like your Concorde size.

We have a 2016 LHD Nexxo which has now done 36,000kms and we are very happy with it. We did have a manufacturing fault that came to light three years after the Warranty expired, the vehicle was returned to the factory and the problem rectified by Burstner without a quibble. I cannot fault the 'After Sales' service from Burstner or their staff.

Quality of the new 'Delfin, which is equivalent to the Nexxo', seems to be built with cheaper fittings and components.

We have a 2015 viseo, had in the past chausson and bailey. Would not go back to either of them. We love the burstner ( don't know why) but had problems with it from day 1 (got it 18 months ago). But for some utterly unknown reason have not lost my temper with it.
I think the newer you go the poorer the quality in general.
Now a burstner on a Merc chassis could be good.

Yes I agree with all that, that’s why our Concorde A class is only 6.48 metres long.

I think my partner would go with the Concerto Cazpaul! But they are a bit like hens teeth aren’t they?!

Yes it took years to find one of that length in that layout, with twin rear wheels and the first generation Iveco 3 litre engine.
Even then we had to go to Hamburg to buy it.

Funflair, budgets a bit flexible …
we haven t blown the kids inheritance yet but are holding that and two old vans….
I’m looking much newer but I have to agree re older vans and build. The spec on our old RMB is very hard to beat and would cost Morelo type budgets which is a bit too much!

I haven’t felt the RMB as too long these past years and we’ve done some splendid motorhoming in it. I think, like many on here, I am reassessing things and feel slightly smaller would be good. The RMB layout isn’t perfect for me, first RMB many years ago had a rear kitchen and two facing sofas which I liked. I think in the Concorde I was looking to replicate that.
also, like many, changed the vans to take grandchildren - but hardly ever did and they grow!
I’ve been looking at twin bed layouts both pull down and rear
to get facing long sofas and twin rear beds you’re looking at 8 m
pull down and rear lounges look interesting.
mobile.de has some lovely shortish Phoenix vans in Germany - I’d like to look at their coach built ones
but they do cost!!!
Also in Spain I saw the hymer 580ML- T Crossover, but there isn’t one of those in this country to look at
The importing threads on here keep me interested….
thanks for you comments everyone
