Hi All,
I live in a flat in London and I would like to DIY a camper. The thing is that I do not have a garage and/or a driveway. My desired van is the Ducato/Relay/Boxer L4 h2 so the limits with Height and length are making it a bit difficult to find a place to work. I have tried to find bto rent a covered garage, a shed, an open storage area or something like that that would allow me to work peacefully in the conversion. Do you have any suggestions or ideas?

Thank you

Railway arches?
Self storage places?
motorhome storage yards?
Canal marinas?

I tried those types of places but either they wouldn't fit a van for height restrictions or they are huge ( like the railway arches) and the rent would cost as much as the whole van...)

Looks like it may have to be out of your area now. Unless you have a friend with a bit of rental space on their driveway.

failing that it could end up being one already built and just needs a refresh some you can do anywhere.

I rent a container, then I bought a generator to do my van.

If you have somewhere to keep the van when finished, you are more than half way there. I have converted a few, on the drive and on the road. But the best was inside a barn with loads of room.

A work colleague just secured this last winter part of a farmers barn for the same task. One side has cows in it and the other his has stripped Unimog, he said it was at the right price though. He also said he likes the fact that as he has to drive to it that no one disturbs him there, his sanctuary.
