Don’t know why but this annoys me, perhaps part of getting older or is there a difference?

All part of the general drop in standards, the Americanised spelling, flying the union flag upside down and a general indifference to reasonable behaviour.

Perhaps the word changed at the same time that "staycation" became a UK holiday rather than staying at home and people started to say "Can I get ..." rather than "Please may I have...".
