right, so finally looking at fitting the mudflaps to the Boxer cab, anyone that knows these there's a small "trap" at the back where dirt gathers, putting a mudflap on will in fact hide this completely but the dirt will still get behind it and rust eventually.
Now, removing the mudflaps every year will indeed mitigate this but are there any other tips at all for prevention rather than cure?
I didn't know if it would be worth smearing a shed load of grease in the area?

Was thinking of putting mud flaps on our Peugeot base 15 " wheels seem to spit out more debris than the 16" and the van sides get dirty.
Which ones are you fitting,?

I would not put grease on those little shelves... water will be trapped behind and still rust...

The only part of my van I use a pressure washer on is those little rust traps and under the wheel arches once a month if the van has been used, especially in the winter with all the salt on the roads.. (y)

Good thinking, it's such a crap design really, if the lip at the front wasnt there or "upside down" the rain would just fall off it.

Waxoil I have used it to the entire underside of mine.
but I had to put it on with a brush but you can thin it down for spraying into places like inside if doors and small awkward spaces and angles.
