As anyone with a large motorhome had problems with getting wheel alignment carried out, mine is 8.7 m long and GVW 5 ton and I am really struggling to find anyone in my local area that has the long enough ramp and or the capability to lift 5 ton, I came across someone about 35 miles away that said the could do it as they don't use a ramp. I am told this is how they used to do it before they started doing it digitally.
Has anyone have any thoughts on this

May be worth looking if Steertrack have a local franchise, they come to you and have a Lazer kit to do it, just had mine done.

Have a word with Bush Tyres in Killingholme. They did mine (Merc 519). Not sure if they can do Tag axles though

I went to our local one and they said they would only do Mercedes vehicles
You probably also had the delights of their receptionist with a charisma bypass just to add to it

The one I spoke to asked the young lady sat next to her and she just shrugged her shoulders,so she went off to speak to some technician that said they don’t have the data for Fiats to do wheel alignment

I have used this company in Leicestershire, they are a coach and bus company.

well worth using, very friendly and with good hourly rates

The old (non ramp) method works, all cars vans etc were done this way, just takes more experience from the mechanic. The new methods use laser and digital techniques, a bit like tyre balancing has changed. On your vehicle the rear tracking is not adjustable so no need for four wheel tracking systems (or six for a tag)

Another option is find a garage with a pit, no lifting necessary then.

Most large Truck or Coach repair companies I would thought?

We had the same trouble with our 9metre Carthago Highliner for over two years trying to find someone who was able to track it but nobody could, in the end I bought a set of Dunlop optical track alignment gauges and did it myself , as a mechanic for 51 years that was all we used .

Hope you are sorted soon

John

For future reference if it does not work out have a word with Direct Commercials at Brigg. Have always had excellent service from them and they managed to sort out a warranty problem on our Iveco when the main dealer didn't have a clue.
