I m really struggling to think of one we have stayed in overnight. filled up and emptied at a couple but cant think of one at all unless you included Clairveaux les lacs and using the supermarket next to the aire and having my french attitude to parking hat on

Several Super U stores in France now feature MH facilities in their car parks. We have used them a few times now. Very handy.

Pontorson  Stopped on our way down and on our way back up through from Northern France to Brittany last year. Has good supermarket and launderette. Met fellow funster Robert 314 and having enjoyed a glass or two of wine, stayed overnight  very pleasant interlude  A good stopover for stocking up and doing laundry.

Can't say we've used one apart from Cite Europe, but have seen them on Ile d'Oleron, at le Croisic, and at Biscarrosse-Bourg (a bit back from the coast). The last one is handy if the forest aire at Biscarrosse-Plage is full up.

A pity our supermarkets can't do the same.

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
You can't stay at all of em, you have to know which you can and can't, unless you happen to find them by accident. Some have 'longer spaces' on their carparks - useful for shopping for anyone driving a longer vehicle of any sort - but that does not signify you can actually use them as an aire if you just happen to be in a motorhome.

Agree that Pontorson is a good aire. We stayed there for a few days Christmas 2015. The town is really good with some nice restaurants.

The supermarket had a great deal of oysters on Christmas Eve - got a box of 30 for about €10. We had a few each day until we got fed up with them and dumped them at the next aire we went too! The binmen emptying the bin sniffed them and put them in their truck rather than with the rubbish, LOL!

Apparently Champion you can stay at anywhere you find them. However, we've stayed at a couple of L'eclerc supermarkets and we've been told on more than a few occasions that they don't have a problem if you need to stay because unlike here, they close overnight anyway. One of the supermarkets we stayed at was no charge but if you wanted fresh water, it was €2.00.
Cite Europe is free.
Most supermarkets that allow (as opposed to tolerate it) are in 'All the Aires'
