I found this in the glove box of my van the I bought in November 2023. It looks like a usb stick and wondered if it is specific to my van 2017 Renault master.
The medea system that does sat nav radio phone has a port in it.
Being computer stupid dare not try it to see.

Since Sept 2020.
It is a flash drive, but so far searching images on Google hasn't found an exact match. What make is the audio head?

.. and that round bit may be a fingerprint reader.

Relative newbie
It could also be some sort of Bluetooth dongle or memory stick, only the familiar USB plug shiny metal bit has broken/fallen off. I'm going with Bluetooth or an encryption key because it has a button to press.

I see some writing on it but can't read it - what does it say?

I had a thought and sent a photo to The Renault dealers that used to own the van as there delivery van .
They have replied and said they think its a stick to enable you to play music through your phone by bluetooth.
I have never been able to link my phone up to the van as it says it doesnt reconise it or my wifes phone so possibly oddly this may be the missing link

It says connect

I would imagine the "connect" means pushing the button connects, rather than that being the name of a manufacturer or the like.
If it was previously a delivery van then I would think that it was to do with an immobiliser and the driver had to insert it a socket and press it to allow the van to start, and left behind in the glove box when the immobiliser was removed with the van being sold on.

No real conclusion except it doesnt do anything when you put it in and press it I have been brave and had a fiddle.
But i have been able to work out how to connect my mobile to the van so very happy and would not have done this if it wasnt for your encouragement and info

Since 2015, still learning
Do you have an alarm, immobiliser or tracker? It could be the key to deactivate them if you've lost the security fob?
That was my thought. I had something almost identical as an after market immobiliser on an old pajero. Could be a more upmarket version of the same thing? Any little slots in your das! Or just underneath and out of sight. Although if you have been driving your van it’s probably been deactivated especially of not mentioned on hand over.

I dont think it has an effect on anything negative and the Renault dealer in Peterborough sold it to a trader and i bought it from the trader who lived in Manchester bizzarly and no handover just yes its as advertised thanks hand the money over and drive away
