This is a switchable 12v socket next to the water fill on my 2018 Swift Bolero. The pins are about 10mm apart.
I want to buy a plug for it but have never seen one before.
Anyone seen it before please?
Anyone got one?

Plug in connector for a refill pump for your water

Yes Kev thats it!
Thing is Ive already ordered a whale pump without pipe or plug thinking it would be a Hella type.
I need just the plug really.
Do you know if it has a name?

Rs spares will supply you with a connector to adapt to the wiring you have. Other than that...Crimp on mini connectors from Halfords! They will do the trick. Its basically a pos and neg terminal so use your multi meter to find out which is which. (y)

I'm pretty certain I've got one of the plugs kicking around somewhere in my 'bits that may come in handy one day' stuff! I'll just have to try to find it, if I do you're more than welcome to it.

That would be very kind of you. Let me know how you get on.

why would you want a pump to fill your water tank? what are you going to fill it from? a very large bucket? a lake if you can get close enough or have a hose long enough? or am i missing something of such importance that we all should have one?

Sometimes people who stay on sites for a period of time have fresh water barrels etc so fill those and then pump the contents into the onboard tank, it saves having to move the MH and is useful if the water tap is a distance away so using a hose isn't always easy and not everyone can lift a watering can, container etc to top up a tank manually. Also ome MHs only have a Whale water inlet which means that the only way you can actually put water into them is by using a pump.

The 12v socket can be used for other things too, such as powering a portable shower for rinsing of bikes, dogs etc but you have to watch the amperage as they often are only low, usually no more than 3 amps I believe.

As above ?
Exactly. I used an Aquaroll & pump on my last van. I regularly stay on sites with tugger friends for a week or so at a time. It's probably the most painless way to transport /transfer water. I don't wish to hear from the watering can brigade :D . Latest van carries a weeks water so I rarely need to refill.

well. that makes perfect sense now!!! Thanks for the explanation - now all I need to do is consider whether I need one (or just want one cos others have one)…….. LOL

Just be grateful that you have a choice, in the past we were considering a PVC which only had a Whale system for putting water in, one of the first questions I asked the salesman was "can it be changed for a normal inlet?" ... I don't think anyone had asked him before as he hadn't a clue.

Just to let you know I haven't forgotten! :D

I had a shuftie yesterday but couldn't find it but there are a few places it could be so if I get the chance to have another rummage before our holiday I'll do so, if not it'll have to be sometime in February when we get back.
