In Honfleur last night, lovely place. Had a great meal and asked for a taxi to get back to the site at around 10:30 , only to find the taxis apparently finish at 22:00. Is this just here or more widespread?

Have been going to France for many years and have found taxis mainly only available in the large cities.

In small towns and villages impossible.

Employment opportunity?

Probably supply and demand. I'll watch for that in future. :thumb:

Loads
We were stranded last autumn just outside St Tropez. had a load of shopping from hypermarket, went to the service desk to get a number for a local taxi and was met with a shrug of the shoulders.

Managed to get three or four phone numbers - managed to speak to two of them (no reply from the others), but no taxi. This was at about 9.30pm, in a major tourist area.
