Any one recommend a good sim portable router that gives 4g. I have a sim but quite often when in bad reception areas i can only get 3g for my fire stick.regards john.

Assuming you want WiFi off a decent 4G signal...?

A few options available. The Motorhome WiFi kit is good if you want that as you have the advantage of an aerial, a power block and a portable router/access point. This gives the best chance if getting and using a 4G signal. If its just portable use i.e. outdoors, then a couple of MiFi or portable units exist without the aerial so probably no better than what you already have.

A quick search on MHF for wifi will bring you loads of info...

netgear m2 is my recommendation for a mobile router ...

just going through the process of having it unlocked - apparently unlocking opens up lots of different channels (used in different countries other than europe) - not sure how that helps me of course, but it does mean i can get cheap data sims or a cheaper contract data sim than on EE

My thoughts were that a good quality roof mounted aerial was more important than the router.
I decided on the Panorama Mako mimo 2x2 but there are other very good ones such as from Poynting.
I‘ll be using a Teltonika RUT950 router bought second hand (£85) off eBay.
Not set up yet so I can’t comment on performance.
I went for this set up after looking at the new Avtex system they are offering which uses a version of the Panorama Great White aerial and a Teltonika router, though they claim it’s all theirs.

For years we used a 3g, then 4g, Mifi router in a watertight Doggy Doo Bag which we would fly on the tip of a 9m fibreglass flag pole. It really does help squeeze that extra bar out of the signal, and gives passers by a giggle as they think your flying poo. :)

However we had trouble at Malvern getting a decent signal so ordered a MotorhomeWifi kit from Alan at DMS Had it fitted at Lincoln. (superb tidy fit (y) ) With the Three unlimited data sim in my phone being my first choice, the EE sim in the MHWifi is a superb backup, which I am connected to right now (y)
