That's a myth and goes back to when batteries were made of woodalso get the batteries off the concrete floor and onto at least a piece of timber or something to keep them clear of the concrete. the cold soak from the floor will quickly drag them down and spoil the battery.

Never heard of "cold soak" surely the ground is at ambient temp same as the air just above it, in fact the ground is warmer, water pipes never freeze and ground source heat pumps collect the heat from the ground
You was right well done. Saved me buying a new one.Yea, the battery symbol on the screen means it needs replacing.
Water pipes only don’t freeze because they are buried more than 450mm below ground levelNever heard of "cold soak" surely the ground is at ambient temp same as the air just above it, in fact the ground is warmer, water pipes never freeze and ground source heat pumps collect the heat from the ground
dont think 450 is deep enough in a bad winter I believe that it was 750mm deep when we built our house some 30 years ago.Water pipes only don’t freeze because they are buried more than 450mm below ground level
obviously warmer up thereThe Scottish water board want’s 600mm deep
obviously warmer up there
