Just wondering what your thoughts are we've just ordered our first Motorhome which is plated at 3500 which leaves us a payload of 215 is that enough for 2 adults and 2 dogs, we won't be doing lots off wild camping to start with so won't need the extra battery or gas bottle yet, I could get it uprated but would have to get my C1 licence which would be more money or I painstakingly weigh everything to see ho close we will be

Unless you know how it's been calculated you will not find out unless you weigh it when you get it, sounds to me though that you will probably be over 3500 when you get it loaded.
Ps hope that you have small dogs.

You will probably be over but the only way to find out is to load it for your trip including you and the dogs and all your stuff and food and water etc and put it on a weighbridge.

The new Moho is a Burstner Lyseo 744 the dilemma is do I get it uprated FOC before I get it meaning I have to pay for my license or wait no see how we get on but if we are overweight I'll also have to pay to get it uprated

We've got circa 500kg to spare on our 3,500kg pvc and we have to work hard to make sure we keep within our limit. Water tank never more than half full when travelling; and disciplined choice of what to take with us. And the only extra we have fitted is a reversing camera; so NO awning, 2nd leisure battery, or solar panels etc.

215kg does sound a rather tight limit to me, unfortunately...

I'd suggest 215kg would be almost unusable.

Two adults and two dogs must be +180kg

Then you need to factor in fuel weight, gas bottle weight, and then even carrying zero water on board you'll only have a few kilos left, then there's clothes, food, and everything else we all load in to a motorhome.

Sorry, I don't think it's doable :(

We bought a La Strada Nova M.

Brand new with full tanks, nothing else on board, it was legal to drive, without me in the drivers seat. Soon as I sat in it, was over.

I had to get the supplying dealer to get it uprated.

I even put stronger LI Tyres on it.

At 7.49m long then there is no chance that it will be under 3500kg when on the road, the Burstner Solano we had was 7.3 m long and came in at 4 ton.

I know sounds good but they come basic and you add everything on right down to blinds and carpets and next years model comes standard with extras such as solar panel and awning and so on which eats away at the advertised 410kg

OK - so as others have said, 215kg of payload makes the Moho unfit for purpose i.m.o.

In a word NO! 215kg is NOT anywhere near enough for you and your dogs, never mind anything you want to actually take with you.

You need to find out now from the dealer exactly what the weight of it will be with all the 'inclusive' items fitted, along with what the axle weights will be, but I suspect the only way to make it usable is to accept the 'free' upgrade to 4000kg ... which is why they offer it for free as they know it's the actual MTPLM it should be registered at anyway and is totally unusable at the original 3500kg weight.

If you weren't advised of this when buying it you would more than likely have the right to refuse it as not fit for purpose - another funster rejected his new MH because of a similar problem.

No where near enough we have a Hymer Exsis 698 at 4250kg when fully loaded with two dogs me the missus full water and twin 11kg gas cylinders full fuel tank we are around 4000kg and van empty except for full tank fuel and gas, solar panel extra leisure battery and sat dish 3400 kg leaving payload of around 800kg,and we use around 600kg for the four of us on a long trip.
But even on a short trip would not be a lot less.

From experience we reckon 600-700kg for 2.
If you uprate to 3850 you will still not have enough payload on a 7.49m van also if you uprate due to axle loadings you probably won't be able to use the full 350kg. We uprated our last van and only gained 150kg.
Although a hard decision to make but you really need to be looking at another van. There are a few vans of 7.5m that is just possible to run at 3500kg like the Hymer Exsis with 520kg payload but even that is tight, our last van was an Exsis we gave trying to run at 3500kg.
Current van is 7.49m with a payload of 1300kg.

It is possible to buy Moho's plated at 3500kg with a payload in excess of 500 kg.
We had a Chausson Flash 04 which was 3500kg and had a payload of over 700kg ... we could never manage to overload it!

I have around 1500KG payload.
I have weighed the van and I'm happy I wont/cant overload.
Its also important that you check individual axle weights as you could be overloaded on one axle while you are under the maximum gross weight
