We have one of those slide out TV cupboards between the lounge and kitchen area…

(Note that I stole the photo from an earlier post by Minxy but this is what the cupboard looks like sans TV)). We no longer have a tv in this cupboard as we have mounted a larger one on the other side of the lounge area.

So my question is, how can we repurpose the sliding cupboard as it is just dead space now?

Hopefully some of you have ideas and maybe you have already repurposed it.

Slide-out bookshelf?
I don’t think it’s wide enough for books…I did think about seeing if I could get all the brackets out and put the MH manuals in there though

Make a base for it then you will have a nice sliding cupboard.
That is a pretty good idea, it’s just so narrow though, hard to think what I’d be able to use it for.

Can you remove the sliding mechanism and convert the facing to a door to convert to a conventional cupboard?
Yes, I was thinking about that yesterday but it’s just so damn narrow, I’d have to buy lots of thin things to make use of it

With it being high up it needs to be something light weight. So remove the slider and fit the door on hinges, then fill cupboard with kitchen roll, or maybe crisps if you go abroad (you can't buy walkers abroad)

Yep, take all the gubbins off the door, fit a hinge to the top of the door and fill the new locker with whatever you want.

A coffee pod machine? They are usually narrow, and that is the same position that Hymer and Carthago fit theirs. Keep the sliding mechanism and you just need a convenient electric socket.

But personally I would probably keep the sliding mechanism and fit a base and and a shelf half way up and use it for glasses, mugs etc.

It might be good for the chopping board and laptops.

Walkers in the UK are called Lay's in some countries, from Frito-Lay® North America, Inc. a Division of PepsiCo.
Pretty much the same thing I've been told.

Our TV cupboard took a good old "cathode ray" type telly! Now it contains a moderately large first aid kit, two sets of binoculars, a telescope, some DVDs (not that we have used any in 5y  ) and a collection of clean "Chinese meal" containers for those moments when you want to store little things.

I’ve just bought one of those chopping board sink covers. We both use iPads which we keep bedside but still a good idea 👍

I reckon I could just about squeeze a pallet in the garage 😂

I think the gin cabinet for the gin palace is the way to go and gets a 👍 from both of us.
