I have a large selection of radio programs on CD's that I want to be able to play in the motorhome, the player has to be a stand alone player Battery/mains so as to use rechargeable AA batteries, don't want to play through the DVD player or TV in an attempt to reduce load on the habitation batteries, so rules out a harddrive, must have built in speakers and possibly headphone socket. Laptop does not have a cd/dvd player as it is only a small netbook. Ideas??????

I could convert the CDs to MP3 format and store them and music on an SD card that fits into an old mobile smart phone (which could be a spare device for making calls (ideally on a different network to your main phone)). The phone could be connected to your MH's audio system, providing it has an aux in socket. You would be able to listen to music as you travel and use it as a personal MP3 player as you move away from your MH when working / walking etc.

I agree with Matty. As posted Broken Link Removed I've set up an old mobile as a player. If I want better speaker output I have Broken Link Removed which works very well in the van.

thanks guys, but I don't have a new smart phone let alone an old one. The progs total around 400 half hour MP3 files. plus I don't think the car radio has an aux input. I am more than a little on the deaf side hence the need for stand alone with own speaker.
