Not Long Enough
Prompted by the SATNAV Poll, I was wondering what maps ( if any ) do people keep in their vans these days.

We still have a general road atlas permanently in the van.

For some trips (e.g. London next week) we'll also take the Street A-Z.

That is partly for getting around on foot whilst we are there but also because there is a great deal of difference between the CC recommended route to the Abbey Wood site and the route which Tom Tom gives.

You can't rely on SATNAV all the time, so the Phillips book of Europe is a good investment and any maps from the Michelin range!

I always carry the Michelin Atlas for each country we plan to visit as well as a Western Europe Atlas. In addition I have Autoroute and the ACSI DVD installed on the laptop and of course my satnav. Don't get lost very often :thumb:

We used to only rely on Satnav but since we tried to get to the show at Lincoln and ended up at Leeds we now have:

Tom Tom Satnav
GB Map
Auto route on laptop
European maps
The route printed out off AA route finder
(checked first with Google maps)

and then there is Pammy Satnav. (Last year on holiday the Satnav told us to turn right and Pammy Satnav said "rather you didn't do that, we'll drown if you do":ROFLMAO:

I wonder if the camels in Morocco have Satnav:ROFLMAO:

7 Years after 5 years with caravan.
The Sat-Nav, always
Philips Navigator Britain 1.5 miles to the inch, always
The bigger Phillip's (forget the title) 2.5 miles to the inch, always
Plus;
AA Road atlas of Ireland, or Michelin France and/or Spain, or Falk's Strassenatlas of Germany, Austria and Switzerland - depending upon where we're going.

So how come we still get lost? :roflmto::roflmto:
