Clearing out some lockers today trying to get the satellite to work removed a weird CCTV unit and found this device, it was not attached to anything and appears to have a moving mechanism in it but not identifying brand or model.

My guess..... a mechanism to "wind" open/close... up/down.... something... a large rooflight perhaps?..

Or on second thoughts... more likey for satellite dish "movement"... either manual or attaches to a motor ...

Yes your right I googled the roof light and its a Remis skylight winder mechanism it looks brand new so I assume the previous owner meant to replace and did not.
