what is this for

Hi just wondering if anybody can tel me what this is for. Its above the sink , looks like a gas connector of some sort, no mention in the manual!

It's a DIN/HELLA 12v socket.
Plenty of Hella plugs on ebay and far more reliable than a cigar lighter socket.

I have a few DIN/Hella sockets in the van. I was considering putting in a 12v adapter so I could run a Mobicool compressor fridge/freezer under the bed. Would this be OK.
