Hi Van Related question.

Is Laden Weight the same as Revenue Weight and the same as Gross Vehicle Weight?

If the revenue weight of a Van is 3500 kg is that the laden weight?

Paul

Yes, that is the max weight it can weigh all up. I believe. Experts are on their way.

laden weight refers to the weight of a vehicle at any given time ie you can have a mam max weight of a vehicle at lets say 44 tonnes when the vehicle is part loaded at say 34 tonne that is its laden weight

It depends on the definition that you are referring to. In general terms the laden weight is the weight of a vehicle (in this case) carrying a load, i.e. not unladen. Usually one refers to the gross vehicle weight, which is the maximum legal loading permitted (i.e. maximum weight of the vehicle).

What is the revenue weight?

If you aren't sure what your van or pickup's gross vehicle weight is then it should be in the manual and on a plate somewhere on the vehicle. It is also possible to find out a van's gross vehicle weight by reg by looking on the DVLA website. Oddly it is called 'revenue weight' but this is the same as the GVW.

If its 3500Kg that is the total weight the van is allowed to be on the road legally

Revenue weight is exactly that......revenue from road fund licence, aka road tax.
Each vehicle, even motorbikes, have a revenue weight to determine which tax class it falls into.

Stealaway is correct Revenue weight is derived from GVW (or MPLM according to the date of the V5c ) they are the same.

Laden weight is what it is on a weighbridge with whatever is in the MH.

Why are you asking about Laden Weight - is it something that you have read, and in what context?

We have a problem with a neighbour he has parked a crafter on our road for the last two months and in that time it has moved once. The road is busy during Rush Hour and where it is parked makes it difficult for us to turn out of our drive and the neighbour opposite cant revers onto his drive.
We have tried being nice with no effect, our neighbour found this law, I wanted to make sure the van was affected by it, the DVLC has it has revenue weight 3500KG

The problem you're going to have is to determine what the actual laden weight is of the vehicle as that can only be determined by weighing it unless it is one that is over 2500kg unladen.
