I am collecting my PVC on Monday, what is the difference between a camper van and a motorhome ? I am confident I know the difference with coach-built etc but not with the van conversions ?

That is one of those questions that causes some debate.

For me a camper is a tent on wheels so if you can find it in a tent then it is a camper.
A motorhome is a home on wheels so you need certain facilities that you won't find in a tent.

For me a camper doesn't have a shower or toilet cubicle. A motorhome does.. That is perhaps the biggest defining difference for me.

However the two terms are freely mixed up in day to day use. I call mine at random, the van, camper or motorhome..

For me, my two previous coachbuilts were motorhomes, but I call my current panel van conversion a campervan.

Many others class them as motorhomes for the reasons stated by Gromett.

I call my PVC a camper van, even tho it has all the kit...shower/toilet/ fridge/ cooker/ telly/solar etc, etc.

I'm the same as Ken @Kingham - current van with all facilities is a camper to me as it is a PVC.

My ex-workmate had the gall to call my 32ft 7.5 ton RV a bloody CARAVANETTE.

The cheek of it !!!
