One side down one to go

I was going to paint the back plate but it a old car and who is going to see it when the hubs back on.

Idiot me opened the garage door, let the wind catch it and let it blow wide open. Onto the open truma bbq gas point flap. Crunch - hinge on the top snapped. Temporarily stuck on with double sided tape, but at 40 odd quid a pop for a new one working out to fix.
Thinking along the lines of a small piano hinge araldited along top face, or maybe velcro, or extra strong magnets, or adding a piece of rubber on top face so the cover is raised and latches at the bottom with two small holes drilled through top face and pins inserted... Any suggestions welcome..

Cheers - but the lid and it's half of the hinge are OK (otherwise it'd be a simple clip on a new one type fix). It's the main frame's part of the hinge that is bust, unfortunately.

Just spend the 40 squiddlies and be done with it, cos I bet it’ll end up costing you more in the long run

Fitted the near side new brake shoes few problems with old brake pipes run out of coper and connector's nippils.
So job for tomorrow going to have to restock the workshop

Removed huge water tank, rotated 90 degrees, then replaced making a nice free wall area in the garage that will take all the charging / distribution gubbins. Prior to mods everything was mounted on the walls of a 'hole' that was under the bed. Accessible from the garage only by a slim 10 year old.

I lost my external locker key. Couldn't find spare. Fortunately one of my lockers was unlocked, removed the zadi barrel with a red removal key. Took the barrel to a "proper" locksmith, he made me two keys for £30.

Replaced both electric elements in my Truma Combi 6E heater. Managed to do it insitu so avoided ripping kitchen apart.



I can now get free hot water and heating when I plug into these bad boys I fitted last week.

Not so much a fix, more maintenance, stripped and cleaned the burners on the hob.

The last 2 factory fitted spot reading light switches finally fell off rendering them inop. Stripped them down, but cheap units that couldn’t be repaired, soooooo brought a set of 2 from fleabay for £17 squiddlies delivered and set about replacing them, but boy what a struggle.

The wiring disconnected one lead in amongst the cupboards and twas a real pain to retrieve, however all done now, so we have lights above the bed again

Replaced the brake fluid on the hole system as it was contaminated.
But unfortunately seem like the mast cyleder has gone now.
All slave and and calipers seem ok no leek's but the peddle seems to still feal spungy and is slowly traveling to the floor sure Signe master caput.

My new headlights have arrived so the makeover of the front end starts soon.

Looking to take off the grill and give it a spray, new headlights as mine are shockingly rubbish, yellow and tatty. Didn’t help that the previous owner had put beam deflection on, but goodness knows what glue he used, anyway it had eaten its way into the plastic, so night driving was achieved with front spots on most of the time.

Also looking to replace the front logo graphics and replace the grill badge if I can find one the right size.

Work on the van progressing slowly but getting there I have replaced a lot of brake pipes rear slave cylinder's.
Have front disks pads to do next week checked all sterling and suspension components.
The wife has been busy tarting up the inside a bit.
Hopfuly abut fore weeks we will be on our first trip.

Thought the brakes sounded funny on our new to us moho which we bought about 6 weeks ago from a dealer. Checked them this morning and this is what I found. Dealer is 100 miles away so he just said get everything changed and send him the bill. Obviously not a very thorough presale check made. Van has done 15000 miles.

Fitted an old subwoofer I haven't used in years to the motorhome. Enhances the Pioneer system and the 2021 Ducato speakers 1000%!!!

Sits nicely (mostly) out of view under the cupholder area.
