What have you fixed on your motorhome this week?

Not fixed yet but, although the underslung Eberspacher air & water heater appears to be working on my 2007 Murvi Morello the blower unit in the bottom of the wardrobe, doesn't blow so, today, after much effort, I removed the unit expecting it to be all blocked up after 18yrs.

It was surprisingly clean and, although it hasn't worked very well in the 6years I've had the vehicle, it looks as if it's hardly been used.

The matrix is clean and the blower works well connected to a 12v power supply?

There is 3 white, what appears to be, earth wires, but only 2 have continuity? 🤔

I'm also told there is a relay somewhere but, so far, I have not found one.
Does anyone know where it can be found?

Soon time for F1 so, I'll see what tomorrow turns up?

Happy Easter Everyone! 👍

Painted and Lanoguarded the rear subframe that was looking a bit rusty.

Got my Hymer back yesterday was away for new exhaust. Full service with all fluid change. Including gearbox. New rear shocks for the body. Full lanoguard. Treatment and mot.
Not had the bill yet. 🥺😢.
They let you take it away without settling the bill?!
Are you a relation? 😊

Surpassed myself today replacing the spring on the door catch of our Thetford fridge. Job was simple enough, the great thing was that I not only remembered I had a spare spring but I also knew exactly where it was after two years!

Incredible! How do you do that?

Revamped the headlights, they were very dull. Turtle Wax stuff, lots of elbow grease but results are fantanstico 😎
Don’t believe you, need before and after pictures please 👍🏻

After a little windfall I thought I'd upgrade solar panels

Apart from slipping off a wobbly step ladder when 1/2 way down at 06:00 this morning .a successful install (good job I've a fat arris which cushioned the fall 🤣🤣🤣) words like oh golly gosh we're uttered
Now 490w .
Will clean the rest of the roof when the boss unlocks the ladder 🤭

After a long period of disuse, I started getting the van going again. Currently sorned, it needs a fair bit of work to get through the mot.
Firstly, the fuse box by the drivers door (2007 ducato). Every winter the moisture seems to get in and cause problems with the electrics. Flashers going, windscreen washer permanently on, main beam sticking on etc. So I stripped the fuse box down and used electrical contact cleaner on it to remove any tracks.

While that was drying out, I got around to replacing the earth strap, which I bought ages ago but never fitted.

Put it all back together and everything appears to be working fine. A few niggles with the lights because the bulb holders in the rear lights on the auto trail are cheap rubbish. I've had no end of trouble with them and have bodged a method of holding them in with slices of rawl plug. Without that fix, the bulbs lose contact with the positive feed. However, after getting the lights working consistently, I still have a bulb warning light on the dash. Maybe I'll have to disconnect the battery again to clear it.

The next major job for the mot is the wipers. While running them one day, they decided to stop completely at the 12 o'clock position. I've no idea whether it's the motor or the linkage that's given up. There's no noise when turning them on. I've ordered a complete motor and linkage set and will attempt to fit soon.

One thing I've found when trying to get spares for this age ducato is that it's hard to get certain sides for parts. For instance, if I wanted to get a set of RHD headlights, you can easily get the drivers side but the passenger side is always out of stock. Also the wiper arms. Passenger side easy, drivers side out of stock. Most of the cheap sets are LHD and therefore useless, but that's what Google gives me.

Anyway, that's my weekends work.

Following on from last week's solar panel upgrade .
Thought the rear vent looked a scruffy install (by professionals ?)
So now just finish swapping for a MaxxFan deluxe.
Much more useful .
forgot to take pics and too hot and knacked to get ladder out again .

My wiring (2 years ago) for the LiFePO4 batteries was not the best, so I got around to tidying it up this weekend (Friday, Saturday).

Increased the LiFePO4 capacity by 33% at the same time and reset the NDS Battery Monitor for the new capaciity.

No repairs thank goodness, but went to the storage yard and took the van out for a spin, clean the brakes, circulate the oils etc. Ran like a dream, so very pleased with that.

It’s cam-belt time soon, so I need to plan a sunny day for that task ahead 👍🏻

Fitted a new genuine seal to the Thetford toilet cassette that had been leaking, flush water mainly. Not a pleasant job but I should do it more often, we’ve had the motorhome ten years and I can’t remember if it was this one I changed or the previous motorhome.

As luck would have it, we took some pictures...
I use & recommend that stuff too, the turtle wax not the elbow grease - I get that from my wireless drill. 🙂

(edit: spot the oldie mistake - I know you young people call them 'cordless' drills but I've been listening to my medium wave wireless all morning & it's infected my vocabulary...)

SoS backup battery on my VW T6. Well I haven't fixed it, needs two 80-mile round trips to a service centre for that. One to diagnose the fault (which took all day) and another to fit the new battery (under warranty I should add).

Naturally they don't hold stock of the part, having adopted Toyota's brilliant 'just-too-late' stock control system that all main dealers now seem to operate. 🙄

I'll probably never use it but it's the only way to get rid of the annoying dash warning light. Apparently this is a known failure on lots of VWs.

Fitted an extra 160 watt solar panel , then found out that my fridge decided not to work and were off to Denmark in three days, anyway after lots of help on here got it going again but don't have a clue How.
