We started off by looking at small campervans, hylo, bambi etc and ended up with a romahome based on a bedford rascal. Coming across the romahome site it doesn't look to me that they're being made any more?

We liked our little camper, went to Glastonbury festival in it.

Maybe the recent generations have got taller these days, most teenage boys are over 6 ft tall.:giggle:
I dont now what happened to Roma Home Vans, is there an owners group somewhere? No doubt others will know more and nit will be revealed.
When I was a lad, a couple that lived up the road owned one of these, it was a pretty Yellow & white colour which I think suited it better than the image below. It was called a "Wild Goose" apparently.

Romahome went bump/finished about 5 years ago (I think). They were bought out by a co called Northstar who still exist on the isle of white specialising in demountables. Some spares are still available tho from what I've read on the smallmotorhomeforum, Northstar can be difficult to contact. Thankfully, our little Romahome Duo is in fine fettle. :-)

I remember my Scout leader and wife, on retirement in the 70's, travelled in a mini based Romahome for a year, they drove to Jerusalem via Turkey, Syria, Jordan and Israel and came back via Greece, Italy and Spain.

Not a trip that could be done today ....

I've had 3 Bedford Bambis on Bedford Rascal/Swift Supercarry bases and two Romahomes on Citroen D1 bases. I toured Europe in them and they were great fun but rust was the major issue.
I used to tow my classic motorbike with them to foreign events and also my 20' racing dinghy to La Rochelle to compete in the European Nationals. The drive to La Rochelle from Dieppe was mostly straight into strong S. Westerly winds so down to 3rd gear much of the time, even on level roads!

I think there still is a Bambi owners (on Faecesbook?) club.

Susan Calman, I believe.

But, did she actually sleep in hers, or like most celebs doing this type of TV show, stay in a hotel?

Not a Romahome.. but we saw this on a site earlier this year, like a lot of tiny motorhome owners, the lady went everywhere in it.

It created a lot of interest too (much...much more than those giant coach things).

My Mum and Dad said we going on holiday and have rented a motorhome, the two youngest were going with them, my sister was staying at her friend's, and I was home alone. 🙂

Is that a Matchless G3L on the trailer?
Yep, a 1954 G3LS. I've had it for 36 years and ridden it maybe 100k miles touring Europe with a tent .

I'm also just the second owner of a 1947 AJS 500 Model 18. It's two years younger than me but in rather better condition.
