sounds like a pretty fair request to me.
you buy new you expect new.
all the faults you list should have been rectified BEFORE the dealer released the RV. what happened to the P.D.I. 8 weeks is a l-o-o-o-ng time.
water leak from screen.........hose pipe usually works.
dont know how you stand in law but it sounds like you might have a good case.

care to name and shame the dealer.....it is permitted on the forum and can help peoples judgement when thinking of buying.

Before you go to the solicitor have you tried the

"Poster in the window listing all your gripes, then parking the RV across the entrance to the dealer (and blocking it!!) until you get desired response???" technique???

And why are you protecting the dealer.....name them they dont deserve to remain anoymous...and then tell them youve named them on a major motorhome forum:thumb:!!!

I always find direct action is much more effective then lining the pockets of blood sucking solicitors:thumb:

You have my sympathy, you'd think buying from someone selling as a trade would be safer bit are they the authorised dealer for the brand you've bought or simply an importer? I'm led to believe there's an difference in law.
In practice, an authorised would have access to the manufacturers build manuals and wiring diagrams which an importer simply doesn't have. Which may explain some of the challenges you've been faced with.
Best of luck in getting a satisfactory resolution.

Doug

Some years ago a friend of mine had a problem with a washing machine he had bought from COMET. after a week of frustration, no returned calls etc he returened (after closing) and chained the machine to the front door with his telephone number and complaint. He had a very frantic manager on the line at 0800 demanding he remove it. This he did only after he was given a new on in exchange!! Perhaps you need to heed the advice given and do the same and then see if they care. Name and shame them to stop us fellow travellers from dealing with them (Let them sue ):thumb:

Hi. Sorry to hear of your all to common problems.
Name the dealer and shame them.
Only when customers are forewarned and be able to avoid such dealers will the rotten dealers have to change their ways or go to the wall.

Dont be put off RVs  Eurovan have as many if not more problems than their USA counterparts. Your main problem was buying new :Eeek: you are much better getting a 12 month old used unit that has had all its little problems sorted out before you get hold of it :thumb:

Good luck with it and keep us informed :winky::thumb:

New??????

This cannot be new....more like poorly maintained second hand.

My van is fifteen years old.

No water leaks.....anywhere.

All seating in perfect condition.

Handbrake complies with MOT test.

Radio works.

Spare key.

Just on the handbrake issue alone you are driving an unroadworthy vehicle in dangerous condition. That's an offence you can be prosecuted for.
