We arent gardeners but during covid we aspired to a few hanging baskets, but next year we wont be doing them as we hopefully will be getting out and about,i was proud of hubbys baskets this summer and it will look bare next year, but we will plant some roses for colour hopefully, my baskets survived when we went away as we hung them from trees in shade in back garden and watered really well

If you have a watering system, and a water meter... contact your utility company to get a discount on your sewerage charge...
I've tried as I'm away a lot, but so far, no luck. Please expand? It's my standing charges that REALLY bug me!

IF left alone, nature usually looks after itself, it's when WE interfere that it goes wrong!
Can you come and tell that to my garden please ... I usually have a jungle when we get back ... without the monkeys, tigers etc though fortunately.

Who said tidy was good, just organise a tiger hunt, the elephant dung is good for the curry plants😄

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
Our children look after our house plants for us, when we get back home they are all well watered unfortunately all dead.

Your water bill is split. one is water supplied, the other is water disposed of.
If you can demonstrate what proportion of water goes on your garden & not down the drain then they should [they did me. Anglian Water], give you a discount on the sewage element.

I used to have a Gardenia watering system. It featured drip nozzles at 5l per hour and a timer. From that I could calculate how much water went on the garden.
Eg: 20 x 5l/h nozzles = 100l/h x 1h 3 days a week 300l/wk for 4 months
They said they'd come round to check, but never did.

Hope this helps
