Apologies if this has been covered, I'm sure it might have been, but after browsing pages of searches I couldn't find it.

I want advice on what capacity underslung lpg tank I'm likely to be able to fit below a 6m Ducato PVC that I should be getting at the end of July.

My alternative will be 2 x 11kg bottles in the locker but I'd like to use that space for other things.

Maybe the answer is "it all depends", for example according to individual van layouts. If so, I can wait until delivery and take the van to my nearest gas dealer. But I thought I'd ask so I can press ahead with my planning.

Hi Lucky ,we have a 25 litre underslung tank 80%fill so 20 litres of gas our van is a boxer 6.4 m so same as Ducato floor pan . I don’t know if you can fit a bigger tank but we can fit a hose to filling point if underslung is empty and use a 13 kilo propane tank if required.(y)

I don't know where you are based, but we went to autogas 2000 in Thirsk to get an underslung tank fitted, hoping to get a 30litre tank fitted, when we got there we found that out electric step was in the space that the bigger tank required, so the option was either a 25litre tank or, alternatively, the cheaper option of twin 6kg gaslow system.

We went with the gaslow and over the moon with it - unless you're going to be a really heavy user of gas, and static for weeks on end, 2 6kg cylinders should be fine rather than twin 11kg

It will mainly depend on what else [water/waste tanks] are under there already
Mine is a 20litre... apparently no room to fit a larger one.
But to be honest, I'm amazed how long it lasts - but I'm not a heavy user.

Ours is a 30 litre LPG, also has 100ltr of fresh water and 100ltr waste water and an electric step so it will depend on whats under the van already and how it's configured.

On a 6.4 Citroen Relay

Our van is a PVC based on a 5.4m Fiat Ducato. As supplied by the converter it did not have a spare wheel and the space under the van behind the rear axle was unused.

The space under the van behind the rear axle is now occupied by a E&P Hydraulics Level System pump and a 30L Caratank 200 x 1052mm (20.1kg gas) CAT C tank fitted by Autogas 2000 in Thirsk.

It may have been possible to install a smaller tank dead-centre under the vehicle but his space had already been used for the E&P Level System control box.
