this weekend I installed this.
MaxxFan.jpg

First step, get ladder setup with protection for the fibreglass body.
Ladder.jpg

Remove old roof vent. Came off a bit too easy for my liking tho.

Old_1.jpg
Old_2.jpg All cleaned. used thinners and a scraper. Isopropal Alcohol to remove any oils etc.

Installing the MaxxFan, I had to remove a fair bit from the flange.
Was meant to be for a 14" opening (standard size). The internal garnish ring fitted fine as did the fan itself, but for whatever reason the flange had a 10mm high strengthening (?) area. Multitool soon fixed that. Not required for my install as the flange is sitting on a wooden / aluminium area.

Butyl tape and Marine grade sealent / adhesive applied. Flange installed.

MaxxFan installed and outside finished.

I was able to run wiring to the nerby light. Cable size was just fine for the fan

All done.

Long post. Hopefully not too boring but I am very happy with the way it turned out.
Excellent fan to use. Love the auto option!

8am set off on Saturday to Bilbao from Bidart , sailing home , overnight at Sunnydale and then the joys of the M6 ( though the ring road around Bordeaux wasn’t exactly carefree traffic free driving , I’ve never seen so many lorries out on a Sunday ! )
First job when I get home is to pick my sweetcorn crop , should be about 60 cobs to blanch and freeze .

camping and caravanning since a kid. New to motorhomes
Had planned a ride out with my son this afternoon. On the wonderful Northumberland roads up towards the Scottish border.

But the great British summer weather has struck again and it’s been raining. Well persistently raining in fact.

Roads soaked 😓😓

Lots but slow learner.
Not weekend but today.
Weather forecast proper crap for today so decided we will not go touristing in Dolly. Amble around Lauterbrunnen, little walk along the top road at Jungfrau, do a few minor jobs on the van, like re-gaffer-tape the fridge door to stay on.
Tomorrow deffo going up Shilthorn.

It did. Not sent papers off yet as needed to carry licence for our jaunt in Euroland. Will send off when home.
Had mine today. It went something like this .......

"Can you see that chart on the wall?" "Can you see both of my hands?" (peripheral vision) "36€ please!"

Bit like going to an optician for an eye sight test, optician. "look through that window tell me what you see", me. "the sun", optician. "you can see far enough, passed".

Got the insurance sorted for the MP3, bought helmet for the wife and took her out for a trip. First time on the back of a bike (at 70, didn’t say that😂) and she loved it 👍 Just need to sort the towbar and we’re in business 👍IMG_1274.jpeg

Not this weekend but this evening.
HRH will be going to our local for a drink or more.
We will be discussing the pro's and con's of motorhoming and if we should continue or dump it.
What aren’t you enjoying or not getting about motorhoming?
You seem a gregarious fella with good taste so what boxes is it not ticking ?
We came to motorhoming after doing all the long haul destinations , luxury hotels and Michelin starred restaurants and we love every minute of motorhoming life .
