Sorry but not MH related. We have an empty lockup garage, which is dry. When I visited today it has hundreds of these empty nut like shells on the floor, they are about 6-8mm across. Have they blown in under the door or have we had a visitor?

Definitely been eaten, squirrels or mice... looks like some kind of nut..
 
They look a bit like cherry stones, is there a cherry tree near by?

Collected and nibbled by a mouse, which if they are cherries is immune to the cyanide in them. :)

Sorry cannot say about the tree as the garage is some miles away from us. Think a mouse is the most likely answer as there is only air bricks and a fairly tight fitting up and over door. There are no other signs of occupation, such as a nest
