Hi everyone. Checking the alloys on my one year old Fiat Ducato motorhome, three of the wheels are fine but one of them ( passenger side rear ) has marks on it. Non of the marks can be felt by rubbing a finger over it except the widest mark which is a slight bump. Can anyone give any advice please. Thank you in advance.

Known as alloy worm... the lacquer cracks and water gets underneath it.. nothing you can do... when it gets bad some have their wheels powder coated...

Is the wheels not covered in the warranty ?

I have 1 year left on warranty with Fiat, just needed to know if you guys thought it was something I've done or a fault with the wheel. Thanks.

Fault with the lacquer on that wheel as the dealer no lose

If left it will cause blistering under the lacquer.
Had my 4 year old cars wheels replaced twice under warranty.
The replacement wheels are refurbished, not brand new.

That's interesting, on my OH's Mitsubishi I found two of the wheels were showing marks under the lacquer after two years. Took it into the Mitsu garage where, on inspection, they found a third wheel showing a small mark. First time they'd seen that problem. Couple of days later I got a phone call from the garage to say that all 4 wheels would be replaced under warranty with new wheels (not refurbished), and that they would let me know when they arrived.

Who do you think the claim would be to. Rollerteam dealer or Fiat dealer.

As above. Check all your wheels and get pics sent to your garage to kick off the process. Had all 4 alloys replaced under warranty on a Citroen ax gt back in the day that suffered from it terribly.
Maybe offer to buy one back on the cheap as a spare???

Often in car washes they use a acid to clean wheels and if they don't rinse off within a certain time it can damage the lacquer, tell them to just use soap and water in the future (if you use them)

On many Fiat alloys (and other branded wheels) they now paint the silver part as well as laquering the bare alloy due to premature failure of coatings. It should be a warranty issue but make sure any replacements have the silver painted rather than just lacquered. This could be called a refurbished wheel but is still better than older stock new or just new if not painted
